About The Event
What Are We Doing?
DvT is extremely fun to do, but very terrible to read about. In essence, it's a practice that started as a therapeutic method (and is still often used as such). The focus is different for everyone, but most people do it because they want to feel things (cue *millenial existential angst*), they want to have fun, be silly, and be in community. If you're interested in those things, you might like DvT.
No but actually what are we doing??
Sorry. That makes sense. Usually we check in, we give you a brief intro to what DvT is as well as to a DvT-ish concept that we'll learn about, we teach you a bit about it, we discuss (briefly) the thing we learned about, and then we put it into practice through embodied play, and then we do a group. It feels sort of like therapy, but it's not. It's more like training.
The Particulars
We're meeting at TaborSpace once a month from 9:30-11:30a.
Cost
As a reminder, the sliding scale cost is between $15 and $25 to cover the cost of the space rental.
Please Venmo Steph directly @stephanie-bayne-2 or you can bring cash to cover the cost. Keep in mind, we may or may not be able to provide change.
Parking
There is a parking lot adjacent to TaborSpace, on 54th and Belmont. There is also residential parking around the neighborhood. It may take you a bit to find a spot and/or to locate the parking lot, so you might want to leave time for that.
Food and Beverages
No food or beverages will be provided, although you may bring food and beverages to consume if you’d like.
Please know that there is a coffee shop IN the building, right down the hall (Favela Brazilian Cafe, hours 8a-2p), so if you have caffeine needs, you can always head there!
Masks
Masks are optional. Feel free to wear a mask if you’d like, and feel free to be unmasked if you’d like as well.
Proof of Vaccination
We ask that you provide proof of vaccination to help folx make informed choices. (via replying to this email, a photograph, or the real thing)
"Dress Code"
Come able and prepared to move in all the ways your body might like to (including no movement at all). We (Bex and Steph) like to stay relaxed and able to play!
